The Paris 2024 Olympic Games and the European Championship in Germany are the core around which this year’s sports calendar revolves, but they are not the only events to take into account.
Below we review the most notable events of each month, in a year in which RTVE has a lot to tell. Not all of them are there, but those that we consider essential are.
SPORTS CALENDAR 2024 MONTH BY MONTH
January
Day 1: Ski jumping. 4 Trampolines. 2nd test, in Garmisch-Partenkirchen (Germany).
Until the 7th: Tennis. Brisbane Tournament (Australia), with the return of Rafa Nadal to the courts.
From 4 to 16. European water polo: women’s, in Eindhoven (Netherlands) and men’s, in Zagreb and Dubrovnik (Croatia).
Del 5 al 19: Dakar Rally 2024, in Saudi Arabia. The toughest test in the motor world and a new challenge for Spanish drivers, like Carlos Sainz, who is seeking his fourth title. follow him on Teledeporte and RTVE Play.
Days 6 and 7: soccer. Copa del Rey. Round of 32 with the presence of the four Super Cup teams. On the 6th, the Arandina – Real Madrid on La 1 and RTVE Play; the day 7, Málaga – Real Sociedad on La 2, Teledeporte and RTVE Play.
From 10 to 14: soccer. Spanish Super Cup: Real Madrid-At. Madrid, on the 10th in Riyadh; Barcelona-Osasuna, on the 11th in Riyadh. End on the 14th.
From 10 to 28: Handball. Men’s European Championship, in Germany. The Hispanics, in search of a new medal live in Teledeporte and RTVE Play.
From the 14th to the 28th: Tennis. Australian Opena Melbourne. Rafael Nadal returns to a ‘major’ and seeks his 23rd Grand Slam, with permission from Carlos Alcaraz y Novak Djokovic.
15: Soccer: FIFA The Best gala, in London.
From 16 to 21: soccer. Spanish Women’s Super Cuplive on Teledeporte and RTVE Play.
From 16 to 21: cycling: World Tour. Tour Down Under, in Australia. Start of the cycling season.
February
From 2 to 4: Golf. LIV Golf 2024 begins in Mayakoba (Mexico) with the presence of Jon Rahm.
From January 2 to March 16: rugby. Six Nations Tournament.
From 8 to 11: basketball. Women’s Olympic qualification tournaments (several venues). Spain plays in Sopron (Hungary) against the host team, Canada and Japan.
Day 11: football. LVIII Super Bowl, in Las Vegas (USA).
February 13 and 14/20 and 21: soccer. First legs of the round of 16 of the Champions League. Leipzig-Real Madrid, Naples-FC Barcelona, Inter Milan-Atlético and PSG-Real Sociedad.
15 and 22: football. Conference League. Betis faces Dinamo Zagreb in a double match, with the first leg at the Benito Villamarín.
From 15 to 18: basketball. Copa del Rey, in Malaga.
From 16 to 18: athletics. Spanish Indoor Championships, in Ourense.
Day 18: basketball: NBA. All Star, in Indianapolis (USA).

24 y 25: motorcycling. Start of the World Superbike Championship. Australian round at Phillip Island. Álvaro Bautista defends his title.

Day 2: Start of the F1 World Championship, with the Bahrain GP. ‘Mad’ Max Verstappen defends his crown and Fernando Alonso will seek the ’33’ with his Aston Martin. Will Ferrari, with Carlos Sainz and Charles Leclerc, be able to make the desired competitive leap?
Day 2: cycling. World Tour. Strade Bianche masculina y femenina.
From 3 to 10: cycling. World Tour. Paris-Nice on Teledeporte and RTVE Play.
