Alianza Lima prepares for the 2024 season with new reinforcements and international friendlies

With the hope of winning League 1 and shining in the 2024 Copa Libertadores, since December 11, 2023, the Alianza Lima team began developing its preseason at the EGB sports complex. As the blue and white institution announced its new reinforcements, they joined the training sessions. After fifteen days of training, the preseason this week will take place at the Matute stadium; although only until Saturday, January 6, the date on which after training they will travel to Cieneguilla to continue with the preseason.

To reach League 1 in perfect condition, with a start date of January 26, the team will hold some friendlies, of which two will be international. On January 15, as part of the ‘Blue and White Night’, one of them will be played at the National Stadium. Here it is appropriate to point out that the club does not lose hope of being able to play both friendlies in Matute, since the seven-month sanction imposed on the stadium – due to the blackout in the final – does not prevent it from playing the Copa Libertadores. As is known, this is not a tournament organized by the FPF and, in that framework, there would be no reason not to host friendlies.

In this sense, the blue and white club hopes that in the following days Miguel Grau Quinteros, president of the FPF Disciplinary Commission, will report that the Matute stadium can be used to host friendly matches. It should be noted that on January 9, the institution, through its legal area, will hold a hearing before the FPF Appeals Commission to achieve a seven-month sanction reduction for the Matute stadium. The final response to the appeal will be known on January 15. In Alianza there is optimism.

foreign legion

So far there are four foreign footballers that Alianza Lima has signed, with two more to complete the foreign quotas. Adrián Arregui, Juan Pablo Freytes (Argentina), Jiovany Ramos (Panama) and Pablo Sabbag (Colombia), who will join the Syrian team, are so far the outside cards. Panamanian striker Cecilio Waterman is already in Lima and will become official shortly; while the Colombian Baldomero Perlaza and the Argentine Lucas Menossi are considered for the midfielder. At the local level, defender Marcos Huamán of Sport Huancayo and midfielder Christian Neira of Unión Comercio will join the squad. These are key hours in the blue and white team.
