The exact dates of the Louis Vuitton Cup have been revealedthe challengers’ tournament that will determine the crew that will have the right to face Team New Zealand to win the America’s Cup. The rendezvous is in the waters of Barcelona from 29 August to 5 October 2024. Specifically: the group stage from 29 August to 8 September, the semi-finals from 14 to 19 September, the final from 25 September to 5 October. Who will be able to get through Red MoonIneos Britannia, American Magic, Alinghi and Orient Express will cross paths with the Kiwis in Match Race which will award the Vecchia Brocca between 12 and 21 October.
The format of the Louis Vuitton Cup is particularly intense: the five challengers will compete in a double head-to-head (the round robin, in which, among other things, Team New Zealand will also take part but not in the ranking) and the top four classified will advance to the semi-finals ; the first place in the group stage will choose their challenger, the semi-finals will be the best of nine regattas (whoever wins five advances); the Challenger final will even be over the distance of thirteen regattas (whoever wins seven wins).
