We knew it would be a very complicated stop. In front, Katie Volynets (103rd) who arrived as a favorite against Julia Riera (153°), the girl from Pergamino who got on the plane to Oceania with the dream of qualifying for the main draw of a Grand Slam for the first time. However, and although the story started well for her, it was not to be: in a battle of more than two and a half hours, lost 3-6, 7-6 (4) and 7-5 and was left out in the last round of the Australian Open qualifying (also unpublished instance for the 21-year-old girl).

The start was furious, with a fast 6-3 that made us imagine the best. But the Yankee tennis player put up a fight: she counterattacked with a 5-1 that beat her, with attitude and tennis, led to 5-5 and later a tie break that narrowly escaped him. In the last point, just as fought as the previous one, they fell 7-5 and meant elimination.
