Bad au Femmes: Promoting Women’s Participation in Badminton

The Côte-Nord Regional Badminton Association is joining forces with the Laval Badminton Association to create an innovative event aimed at promoting badminton among women.

Bad au femmes will be held on February 17, from 2 p.m., at the gymnasium of the Sept-Îles Teaching Institute (IESI).

“The sedentary lifestyle among women and adolescents is striking and we want to give them a pleasant and accessible option,” says Pierre-Luc Morin, responsible for the activity supervised by five national-level girls, players and coaches.

The invitation to discover this sport is aimed as much at experienced players as at girls who have never touched a badminton racket.

On the program for the day of February 17, scheduled to end at 5 p.m.: demonstration by the five invited players, interactive workshops, inspiring discussions and prize draws.

Nadianie Ouaqouaq-Bergeron, Camille Leblanc (2nd in doubles in Canada), Alyson Luan, Catherine Plante-Gonthier and Heidi Chon will share their passion and expertise with the participants.

The event is completely free, open to all, without prior registration. The organization is responsible for providing the necessary equipment. Participants must bring gym shoes.

The next day, the five invited players/coaches will provide a clinic to young players in the region.

The Bad au Féminin event is made possible thanks to the partnership between Loisir et Sport Côte-Nord, IESI and Badminton Québec.

Pierre-Luc Morin is actively looking for additional partners to enrich the participants’ experience.
