Biathlon: at what time and on which channel to watch the fifth stage of the World Cup in Ruhpolding?

Buoyed by the victory of Justine Braisaz-Bouchet in the sprint, that of Julia Simon in the pursuit and the women’s relay in Oberhof, the French delegation will try to continue in Ruhpolding this week. The Bavarian resort will in fact be the scene of the fifth stage of the World Cup from January 10 to 14. The Chiegmau Arena did well for the Tricolores last season: in the wake of Julia Simon, victorious during the mass start, they won five podiums.

Winner of the pursuit event last Saturday, Simon will be particularly scrutinized in Ruhpolding. Rather in difficulty at the start of the year, at the end of an off-season disrupted by an extra-sporting affair, the winner of the big crystal globe 2022/2023 will be keen to prove that this first success of the year marks her return to the highest level. To do this, she will still have to deal with a compatriot who is in trouble. Justine Braisaz-Bouchet, leader of the general classification, remains on four successes and five podiums during her five individual races contested this season.

The two women are obviously part of the selection selected by the French Ski Federation, which once again includes the young Jeanne Richard (21 years old), credited with two top 10s for her first two World Cup races. Lou Jeanmonnot and Sophie Chauveau, members of the women’s relay also victorious in Oberhof, are among them.

Among the men, a change should be noted: Oscar Lombardot replaces Antonin Guigonnat and will accompany Quentin Fillon Maillet, Émilien Jacquelin and Fabien Claude to achieve a first success in the men’s events this season.
