It was reported that within the scope of the “BİDEV Step for Basketball in Villages” project of the Basketball Support and Education Foundation (BİDEV), the basketball court provided to Mağaracık Secondary School in Hatay’s Samandağ district was opened.
According to the foundation’s statement, Samandağ District National Education Director Erdem Yaşar and BİDEV officials attended the opening of the basketball court built by BİDEV with the contributions of BİDEV Founding Board of Trustees Member and Polimeks Holding Chairman Erol Tabanca.
The sports materials that students needed to improve the quality of training in their new fields were also provided within the scope of the project.
BİDEV Secretary General Coşkun Teziç, whose views were included in the statement, stated that with this social responsibility program, they want to focus on the regions affected by the earthquake and introduce the young people living in those regions to sports, and in this way, they want to raise better individuals and contribute to social development thanks to the power of sports on young people.
Emphasizing that they are trying to reach the regions where facilities are inadequate in their journey for this purpose, Teziç said, “We are planning actions that include a number of functional benefits such as facility installation in the regions, material support to the points where there is a lack of materials, and instructor support to the places where there is a lack of instructors. In the first stage, we have determined 10 pilot provinces. This “We will take steps in terms of facilities and materials in schools and provide positive impact on the development of our children by providing them with educational support and life skills.” he said.
