No more trampling. Lerch and Kladrubský started at the beginning of the year in the position of temporary coaches, waiting for the arrival of other names. But now the Budejovice patriots are sure that they will stay with the team. A shift awaits them in the spring: Budějovice are the last after the autumn and the club has a number of problems.
Budějovice owner Vladimír Koubek, who is looking for a new investor for Dynamo, talked with former national team coach Karel Jarolím and his son David as a potential assistant. However, they logically did not want to join an unstable club, Dynamo has not yet brought in a single reinforcement.
So the simplest solution was reached: the definitive promotion of the former midfielder Lerch, who in addition to Budějovic played in Dukla and also in Slavia for a long time. He will be supported by Kladrubský, with whom, in addition to the autumn league epilogue against Bohemians (0:0), he also led Dynamo in Saturday’s test match with Jihlava (2:2).
The 52-year-old Lerch has been in the role of head coach before, but each time only for a while. In two league matches after the dismissal of Jozef Weber and last December after the resignation of Tomáš Zápotočný.
And the 38-year-old Kladrubský? Even he knows it well in his native Budějovice, five years ago as captain he helped Dynamo to the last return to the first league. Last year, he completed his studies as a B coach and will now continue as Lerch’s assistant.
“The fact that both Jirks have been with the team for a long time and know how to work with the players will definitely help the team. We promise ourselves that the team will stabilize and settle down,” the club’s website quoted Budejovice sports director Milan Čadek as saying. “I believe that this decision will help us to fulfill the main goal for the spring part of the season, i.e. to maintain our first league status even after the end of the year.”
