CA Barbastro U16 Women’s Team Takes Third Place in Regional Cross Country Championship

The CA Barbastro U16 women’s team achieved an outstanding performance by reaching third place in the Regional Cross Country Championship, held in La Almunia de Doña Godina last weekend. The team earned the coveted bronze by accumulating a total of 54 points in the competition.

The competition, which brought together various clubs from the region, witnessed the victory of the Tragamillas team from Alcañiz, which placed in first position with 51 points, closely followed by Alcampo Scorpio 71 from Zaragoza, which took the silver medal. record 52 points.

The individual performances of the members of the Barbastro team contributed to their success. Clara Lacoma Salas placed ninth in the individual classification, followed by Alejandra Guiral Castillo in 11th place, Vega Sierra Río in 13th place, Carmen Torres Uruel in 21st place and Natalia Lleida Torres in 35th place.

It is important to highlight that in the under-14 category, Candela Bielsa made her debut in a relevant cross country event, thus adding to the participation of the Barbastro Athletics Club in various categories.

It is worth mentioning that the Barbastro athletes secured their participation in the regional championship after becoming provincial champions in the Estadilla Cross on December 10. This previous achievement gave them the opportunity to compete at a higher level and demonstrate their skill in the regional event, culminating in taking third place in the overall standings.
