Carlos Rodríguez will be the leader of INEOS in the 2024 Jaén Paraíso Interior Classic

The Granada native adds quality to a test in which Ayuso, Kuss or Van Aert will be present

BARCELONA, 11 Ene. (EUROPA PRESS) –

The Spanish cyclist Carlos Rodríguez will be the leader of the British INEOS Grenadiers team in the third edition of the Clásica Jaén Paraíso Interior, which will be held on February 12 between Úbeda and Baeza, and joins the confirmations of elite cyclists such as Juan Ayuso ( UAE Team Emirates) or Sepp Kuss and Wout van Aert (Visma|Lease a Bike).

Carlos Rodríguez will be at the start of Baeza on Monday, February 12 as leader of an INEOS that last year, in the second edition of this new Classic but with great expectations, managed to get on the podium thanks to the British Ben Turner.

The Granada native will debut on the Caminos de Olivos between the World Heritage Cities of Úbeda and Baeza, with stretches of dirt and small walls that make up a tough test and with terrain to show off, as he did
Tadej Pogacar in 2023 with a solo attack from a long distance.

The one from Almuñécar is one of the promises of Spanish and world cycling and last year he won the Morzine stage of the Tour de France, with a memorable descent of the Joux Plane in which he beat the leaders Tadej Pogacar and Jonas Vingegaard. In addition, he was fifth overall in the last French round.

“We are honored that Carlos Rodríguez is betting on this test just as Wout van Aert, Sepp Kuss or Juan Ayuso have also done,” said the head of Momparler Cycling and organizer of the Clásica Jaén Paraíso Interior and the Gran Fondo Jaén Paraíso Interior, Pascual Momparler. “These are world-class cyclists who, on their way to the Olympic Games or the Tour de France, choose to start their season in the Jaén Paraíso Interior Classic because they know it is a unique and very beautiful event,” he added.

The Jaén Paraíso Interior Classic will be held on Monday, February 12, 2024 and is sponsored by the Jaén Provincial Council. The Andalusian test unites two World Heritage Cities such as Baeza and Úbeda and is characterized by the Olive Tree Paths, ‘sterrato’ sectors drawn between the farms where the olive oil is produced.
