    Cheonan City, South Chungcheong Province, secured 9 billion won in National Sports Promotion Fund by selecting a badminton court construction project in Bongju, Cheonan City for the ‘2024 Basic Living Sports Base Expansion Support Project’ hosted by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism.

    According to Cheonan City on the 18th, the Bongju-ro badminton court construction project is a project to build an indoor gym dedicated to badminton in the area of ​​205-8 Souri, Seonggeo-eup, Seonggeo-eup, Cheonan City.

    With a total project cost of 30 billion won, the plan is to build a site area of ​​18,397 m2, a total floor area of ​​4,000 m2, 16 badminton courts, and 1,000 spectator seats.

    The city plans to receive approval for local financial investment review by this year, begin design in earnest next year, and begin construction in the first half of 2027 and complete in the second half of 2027.

    Jeong Hae-seon, head of the Sports Promotion Department, said, “It is expected that the construction of a badminton court in Bongju-ro, Cheonan City will be able to balance the badminton facilities between the east and west sides of Cheonan City and revitalize daily sports in Cheonan City.”
