AC Milan seems serious about pursuing Antonio Conte. The Rossoneri have reportedly reached an agreement with Conte.
Stefano Pioli’s future as Milan coach is currently being speculated. Even though Milan still competes at the top of Serie A, Milan’s failure to progress far in the Coppa Italia and Champions League puts it in danger.
Because being eliminated from the Champions League means Milan’s income is reduced, considering that they earned a lot of money from the competition last season when they were semifinalists.
That’s why Milan is reportedly busy looking for a new coach to replace Pioli. Conte is said to be Milan’s target for recruitment.
According to TeleLombardia, the latest developments regarding this issue are encouraging. Conte has reportedly agreed with the proposal given by club owner Red Bird.
Conte will later take over the club from Pioli next summer and is preparing to bring Milan back to life. This is certainly a danger signal for Milan’s two eternal rivals, Inter Milan and Juventus.
The reason is that Conte already knows the two clubs inside and out considering he once coached there and won a total of four Scudettos.
Conte’s last time in charge was at Tottenham Hotspur before being sacked last March due to the club’s poor form, as well as incompatibility with boss Daniel Levy. Conte was actually approached by Napoli last October after firing Rudi Garcia, but still wanted to take a break from coaching.
