How will the event develop? Schedule and winners
The operation of the FIBA 2024 Men’s Basketball Pre-Olympic is, basically, a “all against all”.
The most peculiar thing is that each of the venues operates as an independent tournamentin which the three members of each group (remember that there are two groups in each venue) will face each other on July 2, 3 and 4, 2024.
The two best teams from each group will qualify for a final phase with two “cross” semi-finals of a single match (the first classified in Group A against the second classified in Group B, and vice versa) which will be on July 6, and a grand final that will take place on July 7.
The champions of each tournament will obtain the four free places for the Paris 2024 Olympic Games.

What can we expect from the 2024 Men’s Basketball Pre-Olympic Championship?
The FIBA Men’s Basketball Qualifiers promise to be, above all, a great spectacle.
And even more so if we take into account that Some of the best world basketball teams will participate in the four tournamentsamong them, Spain (current number two in the FIBA ranking), Lithuania, Latvia, Slovenia, Greece, Italy, the Dominican Republic and Montenegro.
Curiously, there will also be room for other teams with less weight in the world rankings, something that, a priori, increases the chances of a surprise.
The Valencia pre-Olympic tournament, in which the Spanish team will participate, will be in the Fountain of San Luis Pavilion of the capital of Turiawith capacity for 9,000 spectators.
The prices of the tickets for the 5 days and the 9 games are:
- Category I: 350 euros
- Category II: 300 euros
- Category III: 260 euros
- Category IV: 220 euros
- Category V: 180 euros
- Category VI: 150 euros
Although Spain starts as a winner, this pre-Olympic is going to be complicated.
Furthermore, the road to the final phase in Paris can be considered a titanic feat, especially if we take into account that The rivals for the Olympic Games will not be known until a few days before the event beginswhich will take place between July 26 and August 11, 2024.
Even so, the Spaniards will fight hard to aspire to the fifth Olympic medal in Spanish men’s basketball after the silver achieved in Los Angeles 1984, Beijing 2008 and London 2012, and the bronze in Rio 2016.
