The Chery Group continues with its landing in Spain. First it was Omoda that presented its first product, and now it is Jaecoo’s turn. The first produces a vehicle that we could define as an everyday vehicle, at a more than interesting price, and with quality and finishes worthy of the best manufacturer.
Jaecco takes another step. Created by the Chery Group to begin its arrival in Spain, we are talking about a larger type of vehicle, with better qualities and great off-road performance, the scene of the test to which we subjected the vehicle at its headquarters.

The first vehicle that will arrive in Spain is the Jaecoo 7, which will be followed by other models both above and below. It is noticeably larger than the Omoda 5, and in this case we are going at 4.50 meters long, 1.86 wide and 1.68 high. Its wheelbase is considerable, 2.65 meters, which allows it to have ample interior space, which results in the comfort of passengers, especially in the rear seats.
A first front look brings to mind a kind of mix of several models, with a very large front grille, where a torn lighting signature stands out, with graphics that give it a lot of personality. Under this new lighting, it inserts the position and fog lights, which cover the lateral space of the defense.
It is a vehicle with square shapes, which extends towards the rear where a spoiler gives way to a door with a large glass and a good access to the trunk that facilitates access to it. This rear part ends with a bumper in body color, which concludes with a protector that includes chrome parts to highlight its appearance.

The interior maintains the same level of quality and finishes that we were able to see in the Omoda 5. It persists with the same structure, so it is the same feeling of comfort and quality. We couldn’t do a long-term test, since in China you have to have the country’s license to drive, but the little we were able to try it on a closed circuit left us with a good taste in our mouths.

The first finish that Jaecoo will bring to Spain has a gasoline engine, the same one used by the Omoda 5. It is a 1.6-liter engine with 185 HP of power, which is fitted with a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission. At the moment there will only be 4×2 versions, although next year a 4×4 is scheduled to arrive, but only for the plug-in hybrid version of which they did not provide us with too much information. They only dropped that in 100% electric mode it will have a range of 100 kilometers, and that its maximum speed will be 210 km/h.
We tested this Jaecoo 7 on a very broken dirt terrain, where changes in gradient were combined with sharp curves and a ditch full of water. The manufacturer’s confidence is such that before starting the test they asked us to try to push the car to the maximum to see its response.

And so we did, with all the aids connected and with a response from the vehicle that surprised us, since in the curves all the aid systems came into operation, preventing the vehicle from doing strange things and going into the ditches. A response that allowed us to gain more and more confidence as we circled the circuit.
We are left with the sensations on the road, and with many kilometers ahead, but that is another story that we will have the opportunity to fulfill in a short space of time.
