MADRID, 14 Ene. (EUROPA PRESS) –
The Spanish rider Jorge Prado finished seventh in the final of his second race in the AMA Supercross, the American supercross championship, a test that was held in San Francisco (United States) and in which he won one of the races for the first time. qualifying rounds, something that no Spanish pilot had achieved.
The Galician, MXGP world champion, adapted perfectly to the complicated track conditions on a rainy day in the Californian city, where he did not suffer any falls, took his heat and finished seventh in the final.
The man from Lugo set the twelfth time in practice and stood on the grid for the first race with the conviction that he could make his first holeshot in America. He started first and set a dizzying pace on the first lap to ride alone and see the checkered flag first.
“It was a dream I had since I was little, to come here and be at the front… And here I am, living the dream. I felt good on a track that was very difficult and I hope to continue on this path,” confessed Prado, who debuted last week in Anaheim.
In the final race, he could not repeat the same start because in the first meters his Gas Gas crossed in the mud and he reached the first corner in the middle of the group. Next Saturday, in San Diego, he will compete in his third and final race of this season in the American championship, before returning to Europe to prepare for the World Championship that will begin in March.
