Kemperle Badminton Club Dominates Finistère Youth Championships

Organized on Saturday and Sunday at Relecq-Kerhuon, the Finistère youth badminton championships were the occasion for a demonstration by the Kemperle Badminton club which remains – by far – the best training club in the department.

A flagship sport in Quimperlé, badminton has a bright future ahead of it in the city of three rivers. With its young people, BCK has won more medals than all the other clubs in the department combined. Of the 154 medals up for grabs, the young people from Quimper won 78, including 19 gold medals, 24 silver medals and 35 bronze medals.

Thirteen champions at BCK

Of the 41 players registered by the BCK, thirteen returned as gold medalists, some accumulating several titles. The chick Louka Bihan did well by winning the chicks’ singles but also, being outclassed, two doubles in mixed juniors with Félicie Garnier and the boys’ doubles with Malone Hilmoine. Félicie Garnier also won the junior singles. In juniors, Eliott Lieutier won the singles, Brieuc Jégou the mixed doubles and the boys’ doubles with Thibault Annezo. In the juniors, Malou Bossard won the girls’ singles, Maïlyss Paugam the girls’ doubles and the mixed doubles with Ethan Tallec. In chicks, Come Dorangeville won the mixed doubles and the boys doubles with Lucas Tallec. The hopeful chick tables were won by BCK with Camille Guegan-Rahmani for the boys and Charlotte Brevier for the girls.

Some tables saw total domination of BCK. There was a hat-trick in junior singles, a quadruple in chick singles, seven medalists out of eight in junior mixed doubles, six medalists out of eight in junior men’s doubles or even five medalists out of six in junior girls’ doubles and junior mixed doubles.
