Dortmund In an interview, the super star launched a round-the-clock attack on the media and defended himself against the reporting surrounding the attempted coup against coach Edin Terzic (41), which he helped initiate. Tenor: “Complete bullshit”, there are apparently no obvious cracks between him and the coach.
The fact is: Reus was one of the well-known leading players who tried to overthrow Terzic from office by complaining to boss Hans-Joachim Watzke (64). Sky and BILD, among others, reported this unanimously. BILD still has no doubts about the truth of the events, as several internal club sources prove.
Nevertheless, Reus is now trying to bring calm to the matter. The ex-captain in an interview with Sport1: “There was no attempted coup. Neither from me nor from other players. Reading that was hard. And it made me angry too. For me, a limit has been crossed and that’s why I don’t want to leave it like that.”

It is also a fact that the process led to significant internal rifts between the team and Terzic as well as between Reus and Terzic. The star made his frustration clear to the general public when he didn’t look at the coach when he was substituted in the 1-1 draw in Augsburg.
Reus puts it into perspective: “But I noticed that my reaction after being substituted in the game in Augsburg seemed to give rise to this impression. This is complete bullshit. Of course I was disappointed that I had to leave the field. And I shouldn’t have shown my disappointment like that, that wasn’t good.”

Terzic responded to the coup attempt with tough measures and left his star on the bench for 90 minutes in the 1-1 draw against Mainz.
Reus now about the cracks and his relationship with Terzic: “I would describe it as a very close and good relationship. And that’s why we often speak openly with each other. But I don’t just do that in private, but also when we as the team council speak to Edin.”
