Mexican Archers Awarded “Best Archers of the Year” by World Archery Americas

MEXICO CITY.— The Mexicans Alejandra Valencia and Dafne Quintero put Mexico at the top, by being recognized by the World Archery Americas as ‘Best Archers of the Year’, thanks to their achievements in 2023.

Alejandra Valencia was awarded the award for best archer of the year in the Women’s Recurve Bow category, thanks to her title at the Pan American Games in Santiago, Chile, third in a row, and her second in a row at the Central American Games in San Salvador.

⇒ In addition, the Sonoran also became runners-up in the Archery World Cup, held precisely in Hermosillo, Sonora; and at the Archery World Cup, held in Berlin, Germany.

In addition to Alejandra Valencia, Dafne Quintero was recognized by the World Archery Americas, after obtaining continental recognition after her executions in the compound bow, as she is the current champion of the specialty after her triumphs in the Pan American and Central American Games. In addition, she also shone in the World Cup, after winning the bronze medal.

Other Mexicans recognized within the World Archery Americas award were Matías Grande, within the sub 21 men’s recurve category; Ángela Ruiz in the under 18 women’s recurve, and Miguel Ángel Flores, this as coach of the year; in addition to Sandra Loza, who was recognized with the award for the greatest contribution to the development of sport.
