Attention NBA fans!
After the success of the NFL documentary series, Netflix is now turning its attention to the NBA. According to reports from The Athletic’s Shams Charania, the streaming service is working on a new documentary series about a number of NBA stars.
The first season of the series will spotlight five high-profile NBA players: LeBron James (39) of the Los Angeles Lakers, Jayson Tatum (25) of the Boston Celtics and Jimmy Butler (34) of the Miami Heat. There are also Anthony Edwards (22) from the Minnesota Timberwolves and Domantas Sabonis (27) from the Sacramento Kings.

The series is produced in collaboration with LeBron James’ SpringHill Company, former President Barack Obama’s Higher Ground Productions and Peyton Manning’s Omaha Productions. Manning was previously involved in the Netflix documentary series “Quarterback”.
The structure of the new NBA show will be similar to the “Quarterback” series that premiered last year. There, insights into the lives of NFL players such as Patrick Mahomes and Kirk Cousins were provided. Netflix has already produced several successful documentary series about various sports, for example Formula 1 (“Formula 1: Drive to Survive”) and tennis (“Break Point”).
