The Pacers’ Tyrese Haliburton avoided a serious injury after an MRI revealed he suffered a Grade 1 strain in his left hamstring, sources told ESPN.

Indiana Pacers star Tyrese Haliburton avoided a serious injury as an MRI revealed he suffered only a grade 1 strain to his left hamstring.sources told ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski on Tuesday.

It is expected that Haliburton to be reevaluated in about two weeksbut there is relief that he has avoided a serious injury, sources told ESPN.

Haliburton was driving to the hoop during Monday’s win against the Boston Celtics when he stopped and slipped, causing him to make a split. He immediately grabbed his left thigh and rolled in pain before his teammates had to carry him back to the locker room with 3:10 left in the first half.

As Monday begins, Haliburton averaged a team-high 24.2 points and a league-high 12.7 assists., in 32 games. The Pacers are currently in seventh place in the Eastern Conference.
