Polish jumpers quickly brought us down to the ground. Great concern

Polish jumpers are still looking for a breakthrough. Tuesday’s qualifications for the competition in Innsbruck as part of the Four Hills Tournament gave some hope. Although Dawid Kubacki failed sensationally, most of our players took surprisingly high places. As many as four of them were in the second ten. After the test series, the good mood faded.

Did the qualifications pull the wool over our eyes? Poles returned to weak jumping. Stoch saved his honor in the trial series

As in the qualifications, the twisting wind, blowing with varying strength, played a key role in the trial series. Some jumpers had nearly 10 points deducted, while others received a bonus for back blows. Maciej Kot was the first Polish jumper to present himself. He achieved only 115 m, which is less than the rival with whom he will face in the KO pair – Karl Geiger. The German jumped 118 m. However, this resulted in a decent 25th place for the Pole. Piotr Żyła did worse. He landed one and a half meters closer to Kot (33rd place). His rival Pius Paschke (118 m), if it was the first competition series, would have no problems with advancing.

Paweł Wąsek may have mixed feelings. On the one hand, he jumped only one meter further than Żyła and achieved an even worse result of 35th, but on the other hand, his opponent – French Valentin Foubert – performed even worse. After a jump of 103.5 m, he was last – 50th. Kamil Stoch confirmed his solid performance. The jumper from Ząb advanced to the final series twice in the previous two competitions. Now he jumped 121 m, which is better than Johann Andre Forfang (116 m), with whom he will jump in pair, and finally took 18th place. Aleksander Zniszczoł did not have much chance in the confrontation with Stefan Kraft. He didn’t even start a fight. 109 m made him the worst among Poles, 42nd place. Kraft scored 119 m and finished the series in eighth place.

The trial series was dominated by the Austrians. There were as many as five of them in the top ten. The best was Jan Hoerl, who jumped 125.5 m. Manuel Fettner, second, landed two meters further. The top three was rounded out by Japanese Ryoyu Kobayashi. TCS leader Andreas Wellinger was only 11th, and the winner of the qualifications and competition in Ga-Pa, Anze Lanisek – 17th. The first competition series in Innsbruck will start at. 1:30 p.m.
