Two weeks after crushing the amateurs of Revel (9-0, R1), PSG this time remained measured against the semi-pros of Orléans (National). For a long time without any offensive momentum, the Parisians materialized their highlights to offer themselves a quiet, if not exciting, victory.
The eleven lined up by Luis Enrique nevertheless announced some great things to observe. The technician had associated Kylian Mbappé and Marco Asensio with Randal Kolo Muani and Gonçalo Ramos. But the last two still have to get used to the Parisian game, just like Lucas Beraldo, feverish for his first start. But, without forcing, it was the Parisians who showed themselves to be the most dangerous, with Mbappé again calling on Owen Matimbou (45th). The goalkeeper, however, could do nothing about the penalty converted by the former Monegasque (2-0, 63rd), after an involuntary handball but inevitably punished.
Finally safe, PSG unbridled slightly and Ramos enjoyed a caviar from Mbappé to score his fifth goal of the season in all competitions (72nd, 3-0). Once the victory was sealed, the Parisians were able to rotate the ball and their squad. Warren Zaire-Emery was able to play 25 minutes while Ethan Mbappé and Senny Mayulu (both 17 years old) came on for the last ten minutes. Long enough for the second to score his first professional goal (88th), following the reduction of the gap from Nicolas Saint-Ruf (3-1, 86th). The main thing is assured, PSG will be among those qualified for the round of 16.
The fact: Kolo Muani and Ramos decisive
They still have a lot of progress to make, in the game, their calls and the automatisms with their partners. But the two scorers, associated with the kick-off, at least had the merit of being decisive. The first by having the lucidity to serve Mbappé on the opening score and the second with a good move to find himself at the fall of the world champion’s serve. Everything is not perfect, far from it, but there is already improvement.
