Rain Disrupts Play at the Australian Open: Outdoor Matches Delayed Due to Weather

It’s a long day that awaits the players at the Australian Open. After several days of glorious weather, almost too intense in terms of heat for some, the rain disrupted the start of the day this Wednesday. Covered by clouds and a light rain, Melbourne Park therefore welcomed the first visitors without being able to start outdoor matches.

Only matches scheduled on the three main courts – Rod Laver Arena, Margaret Court Arena and John Cain Arena – were able to start as planned since they have roofs. The seven French people scheduled on the menu this Wednesday are all expected on outdoor courts. Result: we may have to wait to see them at work when the weather is not necessarily expected to be clement in the coming hours. The announced resumption time is at 2 p.m. local time, or 4 a.m. in France, without this being a guarantee.
