RJ Barrett has started his career on Canadian soil on the right foot. In his first four games with the Toronto Raptors jersey he averages 21.0 points, 6.5 rebounds and 3.0 assists, numbers boosted by the 37 points he scored against the Golden State Warriors this past Sunday.
“I’m just trying to help,” declared the former New York Knicks player. «That’s all I try to do, just try to help. [Immanuel Quickley] and I are adapting very well, but it is progressive work.
Toronto has a record of three wins, against Cleveland, Memphis and Golden State, and one loss since the deal they closed with the Knicks in exchange for OG Anunoby. Raptors coach Darko Rajakovic has highlighted Barrett’s offensive fluidity and ability to generate play for his teammates.
For his part, the third pick in the 2019 draft added that the Raptors’ high offensive pace makes his job easier. «The system we have allows for many free shots. We are playing with fluidity, with rhythm, scoring good shots that I work on every day. “You know the ball is going to come to you, you just have to be ready to shoot.”
