Ryoyu Kobayashi wins his third Four Hills Tour

Japanese Ryoyu Kobayashi (27) won the Four Hills Tour on Saturday in Bischofshofen, Austria. This is the third victorious Tour for the Olympic champion (normal springboard) since he had already won there in 2019, where he achieved the Grand Slam, and 2022 (3 victories). With 1,145.2 cumulative points, he is ahead of the German Andreas Wellinger and the Austrian Stefan Kraft, leader of the general classification of the World Cup.

Rare performance: Kobayashi did not win any of the four rounds of the Four Hills Tour

Under the snow, Kobayashi did not win the last Austrian stage, since the local Kraft beat him by 1.3 pts in Bischofshofen (288.9 against 287.6), the Slovenian Anze Lanisek completing the podium.

The Japanese also won the Tour without having won any of the four rounds, each time ranked 2nd (behind Wellinger in Obertsdorf; Lanisek in Garmisch-Partenkirchen; Hoerl in Innsbruck and Kraft). An incongruous and rare performance since the last winner of the Tour in this case is the Finnish Janne Ahonen, five-time winner of the Tour (a record), in 1999.
