Schalke 04 loses at the start of the second half of the season against Hamburger SV. In addition to luck, the S04 also lacked a functioning defense. The individual criticism.
Gelsenkirchen – The 2-0 defeat in the second leg also showed that HSV is a size too big for Schalke 04 this season. In the first and second leg, the Rothosen scored a total of seven times against the “Knappen”, who also played a significant defensive role in the new year -Having trouble. All grades in the S04 individual review.
Schalke individual criticism against HSV: Twice grade 6 for weak S04
Ralf Fährmann: A bit unsure at Hamburg’s first corner, but powerless to concede both goals. Every goalkeeper has a hard time without defense. After that, it was rarely required. Note: 3,5
Cedric Brunner: The Swiss may have nightmares about Dompe tonight, who turned Brunner at will for almost the entire game. Before the 0:2 this led to the second goal. The right-back wasn’t a factor offensively either. Note: 6
Tomas Kalas: The Czech played significantly better than Kaminski, but like the rest of the back team, he wasn’t up to the mark when it came to conceding goals. Saved FC Schalke 04 from an even greater defeat on the line in the 54th minute. Note, 4,5
Schalke individual criticism against HSV: Weak performance from Kaminski
Marcin Kaminski: If there is a lack of pace, good positional play and anticipation are required. Kaminski showed none of this and did not begin to live up to his role as head of defense, which Kalas is increasingly taking over. Note: 6

Thomas Ouwejan: In the first half he hit a free kick from a considerable distance onto the crossbar, in the second half he sent a strong left-footed shot onto the post. Every opponent must also always be aware of their corner kicks. However, football does not only consist of standard situations. Note: 4
Paul Seguin: The supposed midfield conductor led an S04 orchestra that was playing quite badly today. However, Seguin didn’t really manage to set the pace. After the restart he got through well to Terodde, but not much else happened. After all, he ran the most kilometers of any player until he was substituted. Note: 4,5
Schalke individual criticism against HSV: Karaman not a factor for the S04
Blendi Idrizi: Had to stay in the locker room during the break, Schallenberg came in for him. Idrizi didn’t play well, but it could have happened to any other S04 professional. The rollercoaster season continues for the 25-year-old. Note: 5
Kenan Karaman: Schalke’s best player of the current season needed a very long warm-up time today before he was even visible. It was only in the second half that Karaman began to take part in the game. Overall, not enough, also with a view to the Turk’s EM dreams. Note: 5
Tobias Mohr: Tried hard from a distance after 4 minutes and was one of the better players on Schalke 04’s side after that. However: Mohr only won one of eight duels. That’s poor even for an offensive player. Note: 4
S04 deservedly loses against HSV: Storm duo Topp and Terodde are hardly in action
Keke Top: The youngest player in an elderly starting eleven (average age: 29.5 years) didn’t make it past the beginning today. Topp tried hard and showed commitment. But his actions seemed hapless and at times nervous and uncontrolled. Unlike his experienced teammates, however, he enjoys some protection when it comes to individual criticism. Note: 4

Simon Terodde: Appeared head on after almost half an hour – his only scene in round one. Shortly after the break Seguin played well, but the striker put the ball well over the goal. The S04 usually only got shots from the second row – ungrateful for a nine like Terodde. Note: 4,5
Ron Schallenberg: Came on for Idrizi at the break. In the 60th minute he received his fifth yellow card of the season, a few moments later Schallenberg tried from a distance and narrowly missed Heuer Fernandes’ goal. At least it was more noticeable than Idrizi before – both positively and negatively. Note: 4
Schalke individual criticism against HSV: Joker Lasme also fails because of the aluminum
Bryan Lasme: Replaced Topp after 65 minutes and, like Ouwejan twice before, failed on the aluminum. Without a grade

Lino Tempelmann: Was allowed on the pitch for Mohr in the last 25 minutes and remains an individual critic without a note.
Yusuf Kabdayi: Celebrated his comeback after a long injury in the final minutes. Seguin went off the pitch for him. Without a grade
Niklas Castle: Saved the weak Brunner in the final phase. Without a grade
