Scotty Pippen Jr. Signed to Two-Way Contract with Injury-Decimated Memphis Grizzlies

Scotty Pippen Jr. to the rescue! An injury-decimated Memphis Grizzlies team has signed the son of the former Chicago Bulls legend to a two-way contract. Second chance in the NBA for Junior after a short adventure with the Los Angeles Lakers.

The Memphis Grizzlies are without a huge portion of their players this season. Ja Morant, Desmond Bane, Marcus Smart, Steven Adams, Brandon Clarke and Derrick Rose are in the infirmary at the moment. Following this succession of injuries, the Oursons front office decided to take a chance on Scotty Pippen Jr. on a two-way contract (for two years).

The former Vanderbilt point guard will have his second experience in the NBA. Last year, he played six ends of a match with the Los Angeles Lakers, but he especially distinguished himself with the South Bay team in the G League. In more than 30 minutes of play, the son averages more than 20 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists in the development league.

Scotty Pippen Jr. isn’t here just because of his name. Already at university, he dominated and was elected twice to the All-SEC First-team in 2021 and 2022. His small size (1m85 and 84 kilos) prevented him from being selected at the time of the Draft, but that didn’t kill his NBA dream.

He has, with Memphis, a real opportunity to show himself, the Grizzlies having started their last meetings with… Luke Kennard in the lead. You’ll have to grab it.
