The ski jumping World Cup calendar is full again. The competition that was canceled in mid-January in Szczyrk, Poland, will be rescheduled. This has consequences for the women’s ski jumping calendar.

The ski jumpers will make up for the World Cup competition that was canceled on January 17th in Szczyrk, Poland, in Finland at the beginning of March. At the World Cup station in Lahti on March 1st, a men’s individual jumper will be added. This can be seen from the schedule of the Finnish World Cup organizer.

Women have to take more responsibility for this

The men’s additional jumping has consequences for the women who also jump in Lahti on the first weekend in March. According to the new plan, instead of in the afternoon as planned, the ski jumpers should compete in the morning at 9 a.m.

A total of three men’s competitions in Lahti

In the afternoon, the men slide to the 5 p.m. time slot. A men’s team competition is also planned for the weekend on Saturday (02/02/2024, 4:15 p.m.) and another men’s individual competition on Sunday (03/03/2024, 4:00 p.m.).

Also cross-country skiers and combined athletes in Finland

From February 29th to March 3rd, almost the entire Nordic ski jumping elite will be visiting the site of the 2017 World Ski Championships: In addition to the ski jumpers, cross-country skiers and Nordic combined skiers will also be stopping off in the south of Finland. Only the combiners are missing.

18 more World Cup competitions

For the overall ski jumping men’s World Cup, the additional jumping means that 18 of 32 individual competitions are still outstanding this winter. The final will take place on March 24th at the ski flying facility in Planica, Slovenia.
