The players of Slavia Prague started their preparations for the spring part of the season this afternoon. Coach Jindřich Trpišovské also reported to the two previous winter signings, goalkeeper Jindřich Staněk and fullback Ondřej Zmrzlý. The sick midfielder Petr Ševčík was missing, the defender Lukáš Masopust will be relieved after a muscle injury from the end of autumn. The people of Prague reported on this on their website.
At the end of the autumn part, in addition to Masopust, Matěj Jurásek and long-term marauder David Pech also missed out due to injury. “The team is complete except for some small things. Petr Ševčík is sick, Lukáš Masopust will have individual relief due to a muscle injury from the end of autumn. Everyone is ready, heated up, they look very good,” said coach Trpišovský.
Dutch midfielder Mohamed Ihattaren, who signed a contract as a free agent in Eden at the beginning of December, also took part in the training. However, he is not yet in training with the team. “About a month ago, when he was here for the first time, he started from scratch. He moved a few percent further, he has an individual plan and he will continue it in January. He lost a few kilos, according to the tests, he gained a lot of muscle mass. It’s running on a long way, but we went with it. We would like him to be able to at least do something with the A-team at the end of the winter training,” said Trpišovský.
At the start of winter training, Slavia has a very wide squad – four goalkeepers and 31 outfield players. The team was also completed by three youngsters Jan Lacko, Daniel Toula and Matěj Žitný. On Thursday, the second team of the first league table will fly to Portugal for a training session.
Trpišovský praised that the players arrived well prepared after the holiday. “The boys had individual strength and running plans (during the off-season). According to the testing we had, it looks very good so far. The boys have fulfilled everything we needed. After the testing, we have training every day until the departure (for the training camp) on Thursday to Portugal,” noted Trpišovský.
