Standard’s Search for Left-Back: From Frans Krätzig to Souleyman Doumbia

As we revealed to you in our edition this Tuesday, the priority track leading to Frans Krätzig for the left-back position has cooled considerably since Standard learned from Bayern Munich that the latter did not count include a purchase option in a possible loan.

Standard, which had already seen the young Jaouen Hadjam pass under its nose, no longer wishing to turn to dry loans, decided to put this avenue aside and move forward on others. The name of the former Genk and Antwerp player, where he knew Ivan Leko, Simen Juklerød also appeared on the club’s lists. But the 29-year-old Norwegian is still under contract at Valerenga until December 2026.

Other players were tracked and the Rouche leaders turned in particular to the former left side of Angers, the Ivorian Souleyman Doumbia. Free since the end of his contract last June, Souleyman Doumbia played 24 Ligue 1 matches last season and two in the Coupe de France. In France, there is talk of interest on the part of Rouches. According to our information, the discussions have even advanced even if nothing has been done yet. Discussions would revolve around a two and a half year contract.
