Switzerland suffers Russian cyber attack during Zelensky’s participation in the Davos Forum – El Sol de México

Several websites of official Swiss institutions saw their activity paralyzed today after receiving a wave of cyber attacks that have been claimed by the pro-Russian hacking group “NoName” in relation to the attendance of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky at the World Economic Forum in the Swiss town of Davos.

In an official statement, the Swiss Government reported that several of its websites were disabled after receiving several DDoS attacks, which consisted of overloading websites and applications with selective requests, thus leaving them inaccessible.

However, the authorities reported that the Federal Cybersecurity Office was already expecting a similar attack before the Ukrainian president’s visit and warned critical infrastructure operators against such threats on the eve of the Davos meeting, which made it possible to quickly detect attacks and remedy them.

In June 2023, the organized group already attacked several official websites of the federal administration such as those of the army, the Customs and Border Protection Office or the Federal Police Office, then to boycott a speech by Zelensky before the Swiss Parliament.
