MADRID, 29 Ene. (EUROPA PRESS) –

The Jaén Paraíso Interior Classic presented its 2024 edition this Monday, which will be held on February 12, in which, although its current champion, the Slovenian Tadej Pogacar (UAE Team Emirates), will not be present, he does predict a great race “with the strength more distributed”

The 2024 edition of the Clásica and Gran Fondo Jaén Paraíso Interior was presented at the Higher Sports Council in Madrid with the presence of its president, José Manuel Rodríguez Uribes; the president of the Jaén Provincial Council, Paco Reyes; and the president of the Royal Spanish Cycling Federation, José Luis López Cerrón, together with its organizer, Pascual Momparler.

The peloton that will participate in this classic will be made up of the main teams in the World Tour category and the presence of top cyclists such as the winner of the Vuelta a España, the American Sepp Kuss (Visma-Lease a Bike), the UAE Team Emirates , who will attend this time with the Spanish Juan Ayuso, the Ineos Grenadiers, with the also thriving Spanish Carlos Rodríguez, or the Movistar Team.

“This year, the Jaén Paraíso Interior Classic will enjoy its best participation ever. In 2023 we enjoyed the best cyclist in the world, Tadej Pogacar, but there was a step between him and the next ones. This February 12, however, the forces are more distributed with figures that will sell this test and this province throughout the world,” said Pascual Momparler.

For his part, Paco Reyes, president of the Jaén Provincial Council, recalled that “in the province of Jaén many people are looking forward to the ‘Super Cycling Monday’ to arrive.” “This test is a golden opportunity for our province because it consolidates us as a reference in the world of cycling, taking advantage of our unique features, our orography and our natural parks,” he added.

Finally, José Manuel Rodríguez Uribes stated that this Jaén Paraíso Interior Classic “not only celebrates sport but also honors the rural and natural heritage” of the country. “This event is much more than a cycling race, because it is also a bridge between past and present by uniting two World Heritage Cities such as Úbeda and Baeza. It shows the world the cultural legacy of Jaén and its iconic Sea of Olives, a hallmark of identity of a test that unites tourism and sport,” stated the president of the CSD.

Before this test, the Gran Fondo Jaén Paraíso Interior will be held, a cycle tourism version of the classic designed so that bicycle fans can enjoy a day of cycling in the Sea of Olivos with the same infrastructure as the professionals on the eve of their competition and that this time it will have Joaquim ‘Purito’ Rodríguez as ambassador.
