The Night of the Chécy Canal: A Successful Start for CBAC Badminton Tournament

The new gymnasium at the Plantes sports complex in Chécy hosted the very first competition organized by the CBAC badminton Chécy.

On Friday, an official mixed doubles tournament took place, “The night of the Chécy canal”. Created in 2000, the local badminton club (CBAC) has eighty members. Although it is essentially a leisure club, it still has two teams playing competitively.

For this tournament, fifty-two teams were entered, including one hundred and four junior, senior and veteran players from Loiret, from unclassified to R4 (first step in the regional). From 7 p.m., for the first match, they faced each other in a great sporting spirit.

Something to rejoice all the members of the club and its president, Pascal Charamond, who has been in office for seventeen years. The group matches, played in twenty-one points and two winning sets in the different level groups, gave rise to beautiful and intense confrontations.

The final, played at more than two in the morning, saw the victory in Top 1 of Célia Baetens and Antoine Soulaischamp (Sully/Les Bordes club), in Top 2 of Mylène Douassier and Quentin Talagrand (Saran club), in TOP 3 of Marie-Line Thomas and Franck Rousseau (Chanteau club), in Top 4 of Pierrine Presle and Quentin Boudeville (Malesherbes club), in Top 5 of Justine Cornec and Julien Vanneau (Beaugency club) and in Top 6 of Salma Agrebi and Benjamin Vu (CLTO/Orléans club).

Practical. Please note that the game sessions take place at the Pierre Mendès-France gymnasium on Monday from 8 p.m. to 10:30 p.m., Friday from 8:30 p.m. to 11 p.m. and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. Information on the website badmintonchecy.fr or at [email protected]
