His arrival at court, under judicial escort, demonstrated, in certain respects, the behavior for which he was accused. Following his partner’s complaint, at the end of September 2023, the defendant, 35, was placed under judicial supervision. A ban on contact with the alleged victim was ordered. A preventive measure that he had not been able to respect, as his jealousy had become uncontrollable. He was then placed in pre-trial detention.

Repeated insults and threats

This Thursday, January 11, before the judicial court of Brive, in Corrèze, he had to answer for violence against his partner and his 7-year-old daughter. Two victims hit by the insults and threats of this father of three children.

In this blended family, living in the Lubersac area, the situation had become unbearable since July. In the process of separation, domestic scenes, against a backdrop of suspicion of adultery, multiplied. Several sequences were thus accused of him.

The first took place in the family home. During an argument, after the victim’s partner threatened to call her brothers, the accused grabbed a baseball bat in the kitchen.

“It was to tell him that I was not afraid,” the defendant retorted at the hearing, adopting the position of victim while acknowledging the facts. His companion then screamed in fear. Her 7-year-old daughter grabbed the bat to protect her mother, before taking refuge with her in the bedroom.

1,527 telephone exchanges in one month

On the night of September 29 to 30, finally, after yet another argument, the mother and children had to take refuge with relatives. The gendarmerie, who had come, found the husband beside himself, who was calling his wife names. During this last month of living together, the couple had spoken 1,527 times by telephone.

“What relationship can we have when we receive 50 messages a day?” asks Émilie Lasbats for the prosecution. In this context of harassment, when he grabs a baseball bat, his wife is afraid. And when his daughter takes the bat from him to protect her mother, we are clearly in a role reversal in this household. »

A strong psychological impact

“The three girls and the mother had to be followed by a psychologist. They sleep with their mother. The mother lost 8 kg,” insists Me Laurence Bentejac for the two victims.

“Human relationships are complex, there is no “he the bad guy” and she the good one. It’s the story of a couple who couldn’t separate,” tried to temper Me Aysun Baggul. The 30-year-old was sentenced to eight months in prison with a ban on contact. His parental authority was taken away from him.
