Tottenham sign Romanian defender Radu Dragusin

The English club bet on this young 21-year-old defender from Genoa.

The English club Tottenham announced Thursday the recruitment of Romanian defender Radu Dragusin, aged 21 and from Genoa in Italy.

The Romanian international who passed through Juventus Turin has signed until 2030. He will enter the central defender rotation, while potential starters Cristian Romero and Mickey van de Ven have suffered injuries this season.

In their absence, coach Ange Postecoglou relied on Emerson Royal, professional full-back, and Ben Davies. The latter injured his thigh on Friday during an FA Cup match against Burnley.

Radu Dragusin, also courted by Bayern Munich, started all 22 matches played by Genoa this season in the league.

Tottenham paid 25 million euros (plus bonuses of up to 5 million EUR) to the Serie A club, which recruited him for more than 5 million euros last summer, according to press estimates.

In the opposite direction, Spurs have loaned their right back Djed Spence to the Italian team for the rest of the season.
