FOOTBALL

Regional 2. Important trip to Caen for US Alençon reservists, Saturday January 27. Sylvain Gressant’s protégés will travel to the Calvados prefecture to face the PTT Caen reserve.

A team which has one point more than the Greens in the standings. A success and the players from the city of Dukes would overtake their opponents of the day and give themselves a (small) breath of fresh air in the rankings.

  • PTT Caen B – US Alençon B, Saturday January 27 at 6 p.m.

Regional 3. Big opposition in perspective for the ES Écouves players. They will host the Léopards Saint-Georges team which occupies third place on the podium despite late matches.

Incidentally, the Bocage team remains the only one still undefeated in the group. The Reds’ objective will be to bring it down for the first time. There is a beginning to everything, right?

  • ES Écouves – Léopards Saint-Georges, Sunday January 28 at 2:30 p.m., Radon stadium.

Regional 1 women’s. Resumption of competition for US Alençon after a seven-week break. This return to competition is rather lenient for Anaïs Gilbert’s teammates with a trip to Thiberville which occupies the penultimate position in the ranking and which presents a harmless offensive line.

A team (more than) well within the reach of the locals. Yes, before the match against Tourville, the speech was identical and they obviously remember the result (4-2 defeat) and their performance… It’s up to them to avoid another annoying misstep.

  • Thiberville – US Alençon, Sunday January 28 at 1 p.m.

BASKET-BALL

Women’s National 1. After the victorious interlude (70-107) in the French Cup against Estaires, a northern club whose very good reception must be saluted, which allowed them to secure their ticket for the round of 16 of the competition, the players of USBD Alençon are diving back into the championship.

And it is once again in the North that Clarisse Sahun’s teammates will go. In Villeneuve–d’Ascq more precisely. Faced with the Hopes of this club, the watchword will be to win, of course, avoiding any inconvenience before the clash, in the Louvrier bonbonniere, against Le Havre, at the beginning of February.

  • Villeneuve-d’Ascq Espoirs – USBD Alençon, Saturday January 27 at 5:15 p.m.

Male prenational. Beaten on its floor by Ouistreham (76-85), USBD Alençon recorded a second consecutive setback. To avoid passing three, their objective will be to stop the negative spiral by winning in Caen–Nord.

An old acquaintance that Black had faced twice during the initial phase with equal success. Never two without three as the saying goes.

  • Caen-Nord – USBD Alençon, Saturday January 27 at 8 p.m.

Women’s prenational. A very big match, even huge, for the reservists of USBD Alençon who will go to Ifs, Sunday January 27. A Calvadosian team, former N1F resident last season, which aims to move up and which presents an oversized roster for the division.

Ambitious too, the squad led by Latifa Rhennam will aim to continue their series of invincibility by adding an additional unit after their great success against Deville (85-44). This will mean that they have defeated the hen scarecrow. This is all the evil we wish them.

  • Ifs – USBD Alençon B, Sunday January 28 at 3:30 p.m.

BADMINTON

National 2. Return of the wheel to competition. For this resumption, the Alençonnais Badminton Club will receive the Costa Rican training of Rostrenen. A Breton team which is hot on the heels of the Alençon Badistes, only one point behind the locals.

This opposition offers a double opportunity for the Prefecturals: to overcome the cruel defeat recorded against the leader Carquefou and to put a little more distance between them and their opponent of the day.

  • CAB Alençon – Rostrenen, Saturday January 27, at 4 p.m., Louvrier gymnasium.

National 3. Return also to the competition for the reservists of CAB 61. For this resumption, they will face the Calvadosian team of Pays d’Auge (Lisieux) which is master in sharing points (three draws in five matches). An outcome that the locals will want to avoid by imposing themselves.

  • CAB Alençon B – Pays d’Auge, Saturday January 27 at 1 p.m., Louvrier gymnasium.

ARCHERY

Orne indoor championships. The Dukes of Alençon Archers are hosting the Orne individual indoor shooting championships (2x18m), Saturday January 27 and Sunday January 28, at the Marguerite-de-Navarre gymnasium.

This competition will take place in two stages: the selection shots then the duels. It is open to young people, from the U11 category, and to adults. Three different categories of bows will compete: recurve bow, compound bow and barebow.

This event should attract archers from the four corners of the department since it is selective for the Normandy and French championships. It will be held Saturday, from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m., and Sunday, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
