One more Venezuelan became a millionaire in the international signing process of the Major Leagues. Journalist Ben Badlerwho also covers the process for the prestigious Baseball América magazine, announced the news this Wednesday that the most important signing of the Kansas City Royals was the Venezuelan Jhonayker Ugarte.
This is a young shortstop who made an agreement with the troop he leads Matt Quatraro for 1.3 million dollars, according to that report. The confusion as to why she was not counted among the Venezuelans is because she has lived in the Dominican Republic since she was 12 years old, a source told El Emergente.
The agreement was closed this Wednesday in the Caribbean country. That deal between Jhonayker Ugarte and Kansas City allows the money delivered by MLB organizations to amount to more than 31 million dollars in the first 72 hours of the opening of the international market.
Now there are 11 Venezuelans who have received a seven-figure bonus from their respective Major League teams.
