During a Spurs defeat on December 8 against the Chicago Bulls (112-121), Victor Wembanyama posted a record performance, with 21 points scored, 20 rebounds and 4 blocks. At 19 years and 338 days old, he became the youngest player to score at least 20 points and 20 rebounds in the same game.
That evening, he also became the first player in NBA history to reach the mark of 350 points, 50 assists, 50 blocks and 25 interceptions in his first 20 career games. “These records don’t have much value for me if we don’t win,” Victor Wembanyama reacted. “They just show that I have achieved something that I can work on to improve.”

A historic performance since he thus became the 6th player in history to succeed in reaching this symbolic bar in less than 35 matches, in a very closed circle alongside Shawn Bradley (during the 1993-1994 season), Manute Bol (1985-1986), Terry Tyler (1978-1979) and the two legends Alonzo Mourning (1992-1993) and Shaquille O’Neal (1992-1993).
