Austrians Stej and Kindl Take Top Honors in Doubles Luge World Cup

In the first race, the best result was achieved by the Austrians Thomas Stej and Wolfgang Kindl, who covered the track in 41.552 seconds. They were 0.099 seconds ahead of the Germans Tobias Wendl and Tobias Arlt and 0.134 seconds ahead of the German crew Hannes Orlaminder/Paul Gubitz.

Bots/Plūme took fifth place, losing 0.223 seconds to the leaders, while Šević-Mikelšević/Krast took 12th place, losing 0.543 seconds to the Austrians.

18 out of 21 doubles secured the right to participate in the second race.

In the second run, Bots/Plume posted the fourth best time, moving up a position to take fourth.

Šteijs and Kindles won, although they were only third in the race, but in the sum of two races they achieved the best result of one minute and 23.648 seconds, which was 0.315 seconds ahead of the Latvian crew.

Wendl and Arlts, who achieved the best result in the second race, finished second 0.073 seconds behind the Austrians, while Orlaminders/Gubics (+0.119) finished third.

Fifth were Ivan Nagler/Fabian Malleier (+0.391), sixth – Austrians Yuri Gat/Ricardo Schepf (+0.538).

Sevics-Mikelševics/Krasts achieved the eighth best time in the second race, moving up to 11th place overall. They lost 0.852 seconds to the winners in the sum of two runs.

Stejs and Kindl are the leaders in the World Cup standings with 686 points, Wendl and Arlt have 560 points, while Bots/Plüme is in third place with 530 points.
