Courtney Lawes signs for Brive until 2026

This time, it’s official. CA Brive announced the signing of English international Courtney Lawes (35 years old) until 2026. It is a huge coup achieved by the CAB which recruits a player with 105 caps with the XV de la Rose, four Cups of the world and three victories in the Six Nations Tournament (Grand Slam in 2016, 2017 and 2020) which ended his international career this fall after the last World Cup.

The second or third line arrived Thursday evening in Corrèze with his wife and four children, announced La Montagne. He had his medical examination this morning and will attend the Pro D2 match between his future team (9th) and Valence Romans (13th) this evening at 7:30 p.m.

The English legend will end his season with his long-time club Northampton Saints (274 matches) before joining Brive next season. “I still have the soul of a great competitor and I want to continue to progress in this new chapter of my career while contributing to the future success of CAB. » he declared on the Brivist club website.

“It’s a real satisfaction to add a player of this caliber to our squad for next season. Courtney is a leader and, above all, a huge competitor. He will also have a real role to play with the club’s young players because he is one of those players who does not need to speak thanks to the exemplary behavior he shows at work and on the pitch. We are happy to welcome him and his family. », added club manager Pierre-Henry Broncan.
