THE RACE HAS STARTED

18.20 In about 20 minutes the first race of the American cross-country skiing World Cup tour will begin. We start with the 15 kilometer tests starting on the line (with the women’s one), taking over from the ‘interval start’ after logistical problems encountered by the organization.
Good evening friends of OA Sport and welcome to the Live broadcast of the tests over 15 kilometers with a mass skating start, valid for the Canmore stage of Cross-Country Skiing World Cup 2023-24.
Initially the 10km race was planned with an interval start, but due to organizational inconveniences it was necessary to switch to easier competitions. In fact, mass starts will be held on the 3.75 kilometer ring, which will be covered a total of 4 times. The women’s race will start at 6.40pm while the men’s race will start at 8.45pm.
Also due to various absences, Italy presents itself with important ambitions among men. Elia Barp he wants to continue the great growth path that led him to achieve the first top 10 of his career in the format similar to today’s. In the 20 kilometer TL in Goms (SUI), a friendly track in the Bel Paese, the Venetian placed in seventh position and also sprinted for the podium. Best career result therefore for Barp, who will be able to repeat himself in Canada, given that the participation field will witness the absence of part of the Norwegian contingent. This choice was weighted by virtue of the not exactly prosperous economic situation of the Scandinavian country.
