Feyenoord continued negotiating for Rodríguez this weekend

Feyenoord has grabbed hold and not let go when it comes to Luciano Rodríguez. This weekend, the policymakers of the Rotterdam club continued to negotiate with a Uruguayan delegation about the possible transfer of the attacker, who can play both as a right winger and as a striker.

As previously written, the deal is and remains fully alive. Rodríguez himself has had his sights set on a transfer to Feyenoord for a long time and the agreement in principle with the player remains in place. There is no reason for Feyenoord to give up and the call for reinforcement in the attacking line is increasing.

The club saw Javairô Dilrosun leave for several million to the Mexican Club América, while Alireza Jahanbakhsh will be out of contract in the summer. As written, Feyenoord will not waive the option to extend his contract for one year under the current conditions. The Iranian international has been free to talk to new clubs since the turn of the year, although there is nothing concrete about him yet.

Feyenoord is able to sign Rodríguez at any time of the day, regardless of the fact that the winter transfer period is already over. The club can strike 365 days a year, but is bound by two registration periods: winter and summer. The first period has passed, but it appears that Rodríguez can become the first summer acquisition for the Rotterdam team.

Under the leadership of general and technical director Dennis te Kloese, with the arrival of Thomas van den Belt and Ramiz Zerrouki, it has already happened twice before that Feyenoord became concrete for players in the winter, but only struck outside the window. Both players finally transferred permanently in March and May 2023. Such a scenario is at hand again with Rodríguez; a deal is now even closer than it ever was.
