Malaysia – Ducati racer, Francesco Bagnaia was in the spotlight during testing at the Sepang Circuit, Malaysia last week. He was one of four racers who managed to record a time of 1 minute 56 seconds in one lap.
This record makes Bagnaia considered a strong candidate to become MotoGP champion in 2024. But the Italian racer is reluctant to get carried away, and says this is just the result of a trial.
“It was a good time. Arrived at the first attempt and I think it was great. I am happy with the time, but this is just a trial,” said Bagnaia, quoted from the official MotoGP website.

Bagnaia was happy with what he produced in the trial. As a team, Ducati was also able to complete all plans, and the result was that the new motorbike could be maximized.
“This condition is extraordinary. I am very happy with the work we have done and we have completed everything that was planned. The new motorbike is also working very well,” he said.
“I am very happy with braking because I think this is a big step compared to 2023. But we still have margin in the distribution of power and motorbike power on a straight road,” added Bagnaia.
The next MotoGP 2024 test session will be at the Losail Circuit, Qatar next week. Bagnaia wants what is still not optimal now, can be repaired and the motorbike will become more stable.

“Work still needs to be done and that is important. We also have to focus on electricity distribution. We are already one step ahead, but in Qatar it is important to improve it,” said Bagnaia.
