The Gisa Lions have already made it into the playoff quarter-finals. Against Osnabrück it was the expected close affair, with the better end for the MBC.
The Gisa Lions MBC continue to cause a sensation in the women’s basketball league. On Sunday, head coach Timur Topal’s team celebrated an 80:71 home win against Osnabrück and drew level with the Panthers on points. Since Halle’s basketball players won the two direct duels, they moved past Osnabrück in the table to fifth place. The MBC had already qualified for the playoff quarter-finals.

Decision in the final quarter
The game in front of 720 spectators was on a knife’s edge for a long time. After Halle was ahead 48:40 at the break. Then Osnabrück came close again and the decision had to be made in the last quarter. And the Gisa Lions had better nerves. The best throwers were Joyce Cousseins-Smith (28 points), Courtney Warley (12 points), Emma Stach (11 points). Next Sunday the Gisa Lions will welcome the team from Herne.
