Helena Casas adds her second gold and the stars of Paralympic cycling shine at the National Track Championships

The Catalan cyclist Helena Casas won her second gold this Saturday at the Spanish Track Championships being held in Galapagar (Madrid), where Paralympic cycling stars such as Ricardo Ten also began to shine.

After the title on Friday in the individual speed, Casas reaffirmed himself with another victory in the 500 m CRI, with a time of 36:316 ahead of Saioa Orgambide. Meanwhile, in the CRI kilometer, without Alejandro Martínez, the duel that was expected between Pepe Moreno and Ekain Jiménez was won by Eustrak. The runner from La Mancha, yesterday’s winner of the individual speed, was second.

In the women’s elimination, Eva Anguela was crowned in the velodrome of her hometown, against Eukene Larrarte and Ziortza Isasi. Among the boys, Joan Martí Bennassar, José Segura and Erik Martorell sought the victory that Martorell finally took.

In addition, Saturday brought the first day with Paralympic cycling competitions. In the individual pursuit, Ricardo Ten, Luis Javier Arcega and Eduardo Santas, as expected, won very clearly in classes C1, C2 and C3 respectively. Damián Ramos and Ander Albizu won in C4 and C5.

Regarding this individual pursuit for tandems, Inmaculada Martínez-Melisa Gómiz and Christian Venge-Eloy Teruel were the female and male champions. In the women’s bicycle classes, Jennifer Feijoo in C2, Claudia Grau in C3 and Rosa María Sansaloni in C5 were the winners, both in the individual pursuit and in the individual speed.

Ricardo Ten, Luis Javier Arceaga and Eduardo Santas also achieved a second victory in this individual speed; while in C4 and C5 Óscar Higuera and Rubén Tanco won. In the tandems, Inmaculada Martínez-Melisa Gómiz and Nacho Rodrigo-Óscar Hernández were the champion couples of Spain.
