Jean-Luc Reichmann Speaks Out About His New Game Show Competition

By Elsa Girard-Basset | Web journalist

Undeterred between 12 p.m. and 1 p.m. for almost 25 years, first with “Attention à la marche” then with “Douze coups de midi”, Jean-Luc Reichmann has long been opposed to Nagui. But now, it is a certain Jarry who has stood in his way. And when questioned on the subject, Reichmann was loud and clear.

Forget the candidates who have been succeeding one another for almost 15 years on the set of “Douze coups de midi”: the real master of midi is indeed Jean-Luc Reichmann. Boss of the niche since the very beginning of the 2000s, the star host of TF1 can always count on the unfailing support of the public. And the audiences, for the moment, continue to go in his direction.

Opposite, despite the presence of Nagui, no one has ever managed to upset Reichmann. Will Jarry succeed, he who replaced Laurence Boccolini at the head of “Everyone wants to take their place”? No one knows, but obviously the two men keep an eye on each other.

Jean-Luc Reichmann very complimentary towards Jarry

Guest of RTL very recently, Reichmann was questioned about this new competitor on France 2. So did he feel threatened or worried? Immediately, the native of Fontainebleau wanted to defuse:

It didn’t worry me because Jarry is already a friend. Last summer, he was at my house.

At 63, Jean-Luc Reichmann reveals his big physical change: “I am…”

We were on the couch, we watched his premiere and I said to him: “Oh, are you doing that? Ah you should do that”, thing and all… It was very funny. He is very, very strong, he is very, very intelligent and he understands everything very, very quickly. All parameters, whether comedy, one-man show, animation…

A situation that could quickly be bad for Jean-Luc Reichmann’s audiences? This is the question that Eric Dussart asked, and which did not resonate with the main person concerned:

But why bad? It excites me! I must admit that it is very exciting to be challenged. I’m not obviously saying that it’s Jarry who excites me, but it’s the fact of having someone opposite who has spring, panache.

And Reichmann concludes with new compliments distilled in a mess, as if to leave no ambiguity on the fact that his competitor and himself have no personal problem, quite the contrary:

Little father Jarry is really good. He’s a real guy who has respect for people, sensitivity and he’s good!

Just as was the case with Nagui in the past, Jean-Luc Reichmann is not the type to create rivalries that have no reason to exist with his competitors. On the contrary, it is benevolence and respect for others that take precedence, just like what Reichmann has advocated since the beginning. Enough to make Jarry breathe a sigh of relief!
