The parameters for admission and permanence to the LBA for the 2024-25 season have been approved, which will keep the format of the last two seasons unchanged.

Upon President Gandini’s proposal, the Assembly then formalized the naming, within the new LBA Awards project, of the regular season MVP awards to Dino Meneghin, and coach of the year to Sandro Gamba; and top scorer of the regular season in Antonello Riva.

This choice is intended to be recognition of the great contribution that these three legends have ensured to the development of Italian basketball and is part of a path that saw the participation of Meneghin, Riva and Gamba, together in the last edition of the Frecciarossa Final Eight in Turin. to other champions of the past, to the events with which the Lega Basket intended to celebrate the great protagonists of its history.

This is how the three champions of our basketball commented on the choice of LBA and its clubs:

“This title – says Dino Meneghin – is unexpected but at the same time I am very honored to see my name associated with such a prestigious award. As well as the call to the “Naismith Hall Of Fame”, I share it with all the teammates and coaches who have passed through my career and who have allowed me to reach these goals”.

For Sandro Gamba “this is perhaps the recognition that makes me most proud in my entire career. It rewards a person who has always tried to be a teacher of the game before being a coach, with the humility to follow all the stages with patience, humility and a lot of love for this sport, without ever giving up in the face of any obstacle”.

Thus Antonello Riva: “I am honored by this title which I hope can be a stimulus for the Italian players who I would really like to see sooner or later climb onto the podium as the best scorer in the championship.”
