Having Olympic-level sports venues will make it possible for Lima to continue, for the fourth consecutive year, in the continental arena in the organization of World Cups, South American Cups and tournaments that will grant classification points to the Paris Olympic Games.
Within the framework of its fourth anniversary, the Special Legacy Project has a calendar this 2024 with numerous international sporting events, including three unprecedented world championships: Weightlifting, to be held from May 14 to 17, at the Sports Center 3 from VIDENA, the U20 Athletics Championship, which will take place in August at the Atlético Stadium; and the Youth Swimming, from the modern Aquatic Center; both scenarios built for the Lima 2019 Games.
The Peruvian capital will also witness competitions that will grant classification points to the Paris 2024 Olympic Games, such as the Olympic Table Tennis Qualifier, from May 14 to 17; and the Pan American Judo Championship, from June 13 to 25. Both tournaments will bring together the best in the world in the sports city that lives in the heart of the Lima district of San Luis.
Also included in the 2024 sports calendar is the South American Table Tennis Championship, from June 11 to 16; the South American Fencing, from August 26 to 31; the South American Baseball Championship, from November 15 to 23; and the South American Bmx Freestyle, at the Legado Costa Verde headquarters, in the San Miguel district.
Without a doubt, the history of Peruvian sports will continue to grow with the organization of more international events held in the modern facilities left by the Lima 2019 Pan American Games.
