Lotte Kopecky Triumphs in UAE Tour and Looks Ahead to the Cycling Season

Lotte Kopecky has immediately proven that she is ready for the new cycling season. The Belgian world champion won the UAE Tour Women last weekend after an impressive performance on the Jebel Hafeet.

Despite the fact that the Dutch Amber Kraak (FDJ-SUEZ) took the victory in the final stage last Sunday, it was Lotte Kopecky (SD Worx-Protime) who won the final classification in the United Arab Emirates.

To enjoy

“I’m glad it didn’t start raining too hard so we stayed safe. I had hoped for this final victory beforehand, although I actually didn’t expect it. It’s really nice to win this round,” said a somewhat surprised Kopecky. “I really enjoyed my time here in UAE. And skydiving in Dubai, yes.”

The victory was clearly gratifying. Kopecky will now focus on her participation in the Omloop Het Nieuwsblad (24/02), where she will defend her title. She will then also participate in Strade Bianche (02/03), Ghent-Wevelgem (24/03) and the Tour of Flanders (31/03).
