Unforgettable triumph for Luciano Darderi. Who represents Italy, but is a native of Villa Gesell, Argentina, won in Córdoba to access ATP quarterfinals for the first time.
It was a resounding 6-0 and 6-3 against Sebastian Ofner (38°). The Austrian could do little to prevent the best victory of Darderi’s career, who had never beaten a Top 50 player.
With this victory, the current 136th in the world is virtually 121st in the ATP and one victory away from entering directly into the ATP in Buenos Aires, since he could do so via special exempt.
